Pointing the Way

This image is of the former St. Francis Xavier Church (now St. Mary and Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church) located in Nashua, New Hampshire (USA).

The church was built around 1896 and at the time was considered the most imposing structure in New Hampshire.  Of Norman architecture, it is constructed of Vermont blue marble, and is the fifth tallest building in New Hampshire.

Image Anatomy:  Taken with a Nikon D750 camera and Nikon 28-300mm lens at 135mm, f/11, 1/320 sec, ISO 360, +1EV bias (exposing to the right), auto white balance.

Processed minimally in Lightroom, then converted to B&W in Silver Effects Pro 2 (Nik collection).  While in Silver Effects Pro, selected preset labelled “Full Contrast and Structure” (#024 in my app), then under “Finishing Adjustments”, selected Toning > Blue Toner > #9.  Saved back into Lightroom as TIFF.  Further processing in Lightroom included selective sharpening of the structure and selective blurring of the sky (brush with low clarity and low sharpness).  Printed from Lightroom, using a Canon Pro-100 printer on Canon Pro Luster paper, with printer color management disabled.
